Carson City Nugget Gold Collection - Invitation to Bid

Carson Nugget, Inc. (Nugget), exclusively by and through its licensed broker, Fred Holabird, wishes to entertain bids on the sale of its unique, world-class historic gold collection. This collection has been on public display since the 1950s and is one of the finest collections of gold specimens in both crystalline and nugget form, on public display in America. The collection is composed of approximately 173 specimens (non-inclusive of separate nuggets) with an aggregate weight of about 313 troy ounces, inclusive of some matrix material. There is no recorded provenance of specific specimens within the collection, and it has not been researched. The collection is sold "as-is, where-is."

The Carson Nugget will entertain offers for a period of 45 days, commencing at 12:00 noon, PST, on Saturday, August 1, 2010, and terminating at 12:00 noon PST, on Tuesday September 14, 2010. The minimum bid is an amount in excess of $1.1 million USD. This non-negotiable minimum sale price is based upon current, non-solicited, competing offers. Only offers received by e-mail by 12:00 noon, PST on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, will be considered. The Nugget will accept the highest offer complying fully with the terms of this notice received by the Nugget within the offering period. If there is more than one offer at the highest bid price, the bidders will be notified in writing, by e-mail, simultaneously, within 24 hours after the close of the offering period, and the highest bid received by the Nugget by e-mail within 24-hours of the date and time of the simultaneous e-mail notice of multiple highest bids will be accepted.

The collection is offered on an "all cash" basis. It is subject to all Nevada laws, including the Nevada Sales Tax law. All offers must be submitted by e-mail simultaneously to Fred Holabird, exclusive sales agent, ([email protected]) and Steve Neighbors ([email protected]), acting CEO of the Carson City Nugget. A $50,000 non-refundable cash deposit must be received by the Nugget, in immediately available funds, within 24 hours of transmittal of the notice of the acceptance of the offer, which sum will be applied to the sale price. Payment in full of the balance of the accepted bid must be made in cash or certified funds and must be received by the Nugget, in immediately available funds, within ten (10) calendar days of the date and time of transmittal of official written e-mail notice from the Nugget of the acceptance of the offer, which will be followed by certified mail. No other terms or method of payment will be acceptable unless formally negotiated and accepted by both parties, in writing.

For all other inquiries or to request electronic photographs of the items in the collection, e-mail Fred Holabird at [email protected] or call him directly at 775-843-0229.
