Do you want to be better prepared to buy or sell your coins? The new and improved PCGS Auction Prices Realized (APR) is one of the best resources to put you ahead of the competition.
We have been working hard over the past few months on this and are excited to share it with you. The most notable improvement is the number of auction results we can process and store. We will be adding nearly 1 million new auction results every year and new auction results are now added in a matter of hours or days rather than weeks or months!
In addition, we have improved the accuracy, quality, and performance of the data. All our web-sites that rely on auction price data have seen significant improvements in performance.
You might have already noticed many more auction results showing up in the PCGS CoinFacts ValueView and PCGS Cert Verification websites and apps. We encourage you to visit PCGS CoinFacts and PCGS Cert Verification and download our apps to see for yourself.
As you can see, these enhancements improve many of our great resources however the re-vamped Auction Prices Realized website is the main hub to research the auction history of a coin. Here is a guide to ensure you are getting the most from this excellent resource:
Guide to New APR Resource
From the APR website homepage, you can use the search bar to find the coin you are looking for or navigate using the categories. Once you have navi-gated to the specific coin you are researching you are presented with a list of auction results along with many sort and filter options.
Filtering by grade range and/or sale date provides more accurate and granular control than before. You can also exclude eBay results or only show CAC results if you’d like. Once you have narrowed down your search you can now click a result you are interested in.
You are taken to the brand-new auction detail page which is one of the biggest improvements to the APR website. This page contains all the relevant information related to the sale along with links to our other resources so that you can quickly and efficiently research that coin.
The detail page contains:
- Complete auction details including auction firm, auction name, auction date, lot number, and sale price
- Complete coin details including service, cert number, pop, pop higher, and PCGS Price Guide pricing
- Previous auction appearances
- Any TrueView images we have on file for the coin
- PCGS Set Registry details if the coin has been added to a user’s Set Registry
- A link to the original auction website
Now you can find all the auction information and coin details without navigating back and forth between the APR site, the auction firm’s website, and cert verification. It’s all in one easy to use page.
To use the new APR website visit www.pcgs.com/auctionprices or find it on the bottom footer on our website.
