PCGS CoinFacts Update
Collecting can be a true rollercoaster ride. Imagine visiting the iconic Cedar Point amusement park and finding a famous mint error in your pocket change. That is exactly what happened with the 1982 “No Mintmark” Roosevelt Dime. Discovered in and around Sandusky, Ohio, and parts of Pennsylvania, this celebrated mint error earned a spot in Whitman’s 100 Greatest United States Modern Coins. Learn more in this CoinFacts update. PCGS Set Registry Update
Malta rises from the crystal-clear water of the Mediterranean Sea, a nautical waypoint between the land masses of Europe and North Africa. Many peoples called this island nation home over the centuries. Great Britain absorbed Malta into its world-wide empire during the early 19th century. Finally, in 1964, Malta achieved independence. That same year, they joined the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF). Between 1979 and 1982, UNICEF issued silver proof coins from a number of countries, including Malta. These coins continue to grow in popularity among collectors. The Malta 1981 5 Pound is part of the UNICEF International Year of the Child Silver Set Proof (1979-1982) that PCGS recently listed. Completing this set will be a challenge for many collectors, and we wish you the best of luck.
Additional sets from various countries have been added, so please feel free to browse the PCGS Set Registry when you have a chance and you may find there is a set for almost anyone to build. The PCGS Set Registry offers many different sets from all over the world and specialty sets for advanced collectors. We appreciate your continued patronage!
