PCGS Set Registry Update

Queen Elizabeth II's portrait appears on more coins than any other monarch ever saw in history. During Queen Elizabeth II's reign, several different portraits were crafted, with her first portrait in use from 1953 to 1970; it was designed by Mary Gillick. In 1971, the second portrait was engraved by Arnold Machin. A third portrait by Raphael Maklouf came along in 1985, and a fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley followed in 2000.

These portraits have been part of British coinage for many decades and have graced the obverses of coins from many other countries. The fifth and final portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was designed by Jody Clark and used until the queen's death. The coin depicted above from Australia displays a progression of all five portraits of the queen and a unique sixth portrait honoring her. This coin is part of a set PCGS has recently listed titled 2023 Australian Silver Proof Set.

Additional sets from various countries have been added, so please feel free to browse the PCGS Set Registry when you have a chance and you may find there is a set for almost anyone to build. The PCGS Set Registry offers many different sets from all over the world and specialty sets for advanced collectors.
