Legend Rare Coin Auctions Auction February Internet Sale 2017 Feb-2017 O-101, the only pair of dies used for the year’s mintage of 29,890. The Overton-Parsley census includes three coins graded 45, making this coin at the low end of the Census. An important opportunity for the advanced Bust half specialist to acquire a GEM XF example! Wonderful dove-tan patina shows lots of depth of character with much retained luster throughout and hints of light gold. The devices show a wealth of detail, clearly this coin was fully struck. The eye appeal is spectacular! Normally this date comes lower grade or with problems. This wholesome original coin is a great exception to that rule. PCGS 17, NGC 12, CAC 7. This coin last appeared in auction back nearly five years ago when it sold for $9,775, in the 2017 FUN auction another example, not nearly as eye appealing as this coin sold for $8,225. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $10,500, and it is not surprising, giving that an NGC coin sold back in 2006 for $11,500. The next grade up will cost around $15,000. Finding a choice looking 02 half is VERY tough; do NOT let this opportunity pass you by! PCGS # 6065 Certification Number 25399844 PCGS # 6065
