Coins like a Kilo Libertad Silver and Libertas Americana medal are a touch too large for our Standard Holders, thus requiring encapsulation in PCGS Oversized Holders. Ultra-rare and highly valuable, with a width of 99.60 mm, pieces like these are at risk of being counterfeit, therefore PCGS certification is a must.

The GSA Morgan Dollar sales from the late 1960s through early 1980s catapulted the popularity of these classic silver coins for a modern generation of collectors. Packaged by the United States government in special plastic cases, these Morgan Dollars sold by the General Services Administration are a unique type of numismatic collectible for which PCGS created a special type of Oversized Holder in 2013.
DetailsThese larger holders, protecting coins up to 98.85mm, which are also suitable for Eisenhower Dollars sold in plastic cases by the United States government, afford collectors the best of both worlds by allowing them to keep these collectible silver dollars in their original holders while also maximizing their protection and value in PCGS holders. Submit GSA Carson City Dollars in the original GSA case and PCGS will grade and encapsulate the coin (and case) in our special Oversized Holder while adding the grade on a standard label at the bottom.

BackPCGS Banknote Holders
Our standard holder is used for most U.S. and World notes we certify and encapsulate. It can accommodate everything from Large Size U.S. notes down to Fractionals and everything in between. This holder comes standard with all submissions of notes that measure 7.50 x 3.125 inches* or smaller (Large Size U.S. notes or smaller). Most banknotes submitted will qualify for this holder.

Banknotes larger than 7.50 x 3.125 inches* and smaller than 6.14 x 10.44 inches* require an Oversized Holder for an additional $10 to the grading service fee. If you have a larger note, no problem! We can accommodate it. Our holders can be customized and require extra time for our team to handcraft the optimum holder to showcase your note. Please select “Oversized Holder” on the line item in Section 6 of the submission form for any banknotes or larger items we certify within this size range.

Banknotes sized 6.15 x 10.45 inches* up to a maximum size of 17.25 x 12.5 inches require a Custom Oversized Holder. This holder is designed for very large notes and uncut sheets. The maximum uncut sheet for Small Size U.S. notes would be 12 subjects (two subjects wide by six subjects tall, or approximately 15.66 x 12.28 inches*). Oversized Custom Holders are completely customized from scratch by our team and designed specifically for your note(s).
Oversized Custom Holders require an additional $40 to the grading service. Please select “Oversized Custom Holder” on the line item in Section 6 on the submission form for any items we certify within this size range.

PCGS pack grading allows for the protection of these unique collectibles while keeping the consecutive notes intact in their original order. Submit your banknote packs for pack holder grading and encapsulation to keep these historic items certified and secure! In addition to the appropriate service level, in section five please check “other” as well and notate “Pack Holder +$60”.
Any world banknote packs that are the same dimensions as standard US small size currency packs are potentially eligible for the pack holder certification as well. For any world packs, please contact customer service to confirm world pack size prior to submitting.

The PCGS Banknote team reserves the right to add oversized and custom oversized holder fees to qualifying notes submitted for grading and authentication.
