From the U.S. Mint Product Notification Newsletter, April 12, 2000:

Effective April 17, 2000, 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time, the United States Mint will begin selling the Maryland First Day Commemorative Coin Cover. This limited edition cover - only 75,000 will be produced - features two Maryland quarters from the first day of mintage - February 28, 2000. Each cover includes quarters from both the Philadelphia and Denver Mints on a handsome display card with the 33-cent Flag-Over-City postage stamp. The postmark of March 13, 2000, Annapolis, Maryland, marks the day Maryland quarters were first released to the Federal Reserve Bank and to the public.

Orders will not be accepted prior to April 17, 2000. Any order inadvertently taken prior to that date will be cancelled.

Online orders, which are exempt from shipping and handling fees, may be placed at The U.S. Mint website. In addition, phone, mail, and fax orders also will be accepted and will include an additional charge of $3.95 for shipping and handling. Hearing and speech impaired customers with TTY equipment can place an order by calling (301) 344-4144, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
