Maryland Quarters Available in Bags

From the U.S. Mint’s Product Notification Newsletter, 3/27/00:

Effective April 3, 2000, 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Saving Time (EDST), the United States Mint will begin selling regular circulating finish Maryland quarters directly to the public in bags of 100 and 1,000 coins. The Maryland quarter is the second coin struck of the new millennium under the 50 State QuartersTM Program and seventh overall in the program. These bags, featuring quarters used in regular transactions and struck on our main production floors in Philadelphia and Denver, will be shipped directly to you from the U.S. Mint. Each bag is marked with the Mint of origin and the dollar value of its contents ($25 or $250). Note that there are no order limits on this product. Delivery for this product is expected to take 6-8 weeks.

Orders will not be accepted prior to April 3, 2000. Any order inadvertently taken prior to that date will be cancelled.

Online orders, which are exempt from shipping and handling fees, may be placed at www.usmint.gov/catalog/default.htm. In addition, phone and fax orders also will be accepted. Hearing and speech impaired customers with TTY equipment can place an order by calling (301) 344-4144, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
