PCGS American Hero, Lance Armstrong, Set For ''Tonight Show,'' Wednesday, Sept. 1st

Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong, has started signing his name on Professional Coin Grading Service label inserts as part of the PCGS American Heroes Series announced earlier this summer (see accompanying photo and click here for earlier story).

He will appear on the NBC-TV "Tonight Show With Jay Leno" this Wednesday, September 1, 2004. Check your local TV listings for specific time (10:35 or 11:35 p.m.) and channel.

Armstrong won an unprecedented sixth victory Sunday, July 25, in the grueling 2,108 mile bicycle race. On the eve of that historic race he signed an agreement with PCGS to provide as many as 10,000 handwritten autographs for the PCGS American Heroes Series.

His signature will appear on the PCGS label inserts in holders that will contain either a Tour de France commemorative silver coin struck by the French Mint, Monnaie de Paris, or a United States coin struck during one of the years Armstrong won his six consecutive Tour de France races, 1999 to 2004.
