Mike Sherman - May 21, 2013

It has been over a year since we have updated Photograde, but hopefully the wait was worth it. The latest version features:

Over 120 images have been substituted as well. As our photographic archive grows, we continually monitor it for better examples. Since Photograde made its debut more than three years ago, it has grown from 1,190 pictures to 1,945 today, an increase of 64%. In addition, the number of series covered has increased from 60 in 2010 to 84 today.

We have ambitious plans for Photograde in the coming year as well.

First up, our next release will include coverage of Qualifiers. We'll show color on copper coins (Red, Red and Brown and Brown), strike on selected nickel and silver type coins (Full Steps, Full Bands, Full Head, etc... ) and surface reflectivity on Morgan Dollars (PL and DMPL).

Next up, will be some verbal descriptions for selected grades and series. We are still working on the best way to present this information without impacting the simplicity and clean interface of Photograde.

Finally, we are working on a version of Photograde for some World Coins. First up will be China, with grading tips for both vintage dollar coins of the early 20th century through modern Panda coins in grades of 67 to 70.

As always, we welcome your comments and input into this project. Feel free to email me with any suggestions. [email protected].
