The PCGS Set Registry Goes Canadian!

As a Canadian coin collector, you can now participate in the PCGS Canadian Coin Set Registry. Located in the popular PCGS Set Registry at www.pcgs.com in the new World Coin section, the Canadian registry currently lists 13 categories and 113 different sets.

Categories include Complete Sets, Type Sets, Cents, Five Cents, Ten Cents, Twenty and Twenty-Five Cents, Fifty Cents, Dollars, Gold, Modern Commemoratives, Maple Leafs, Newfoundland and Atlantic Provinces. All coins within sets are assigned weights according to rarity, value, and popularity. And, similar to the U.S. Coin registry, Red Brown and Red copper and Cameo and Deep Cameo proofs receive bonus points. Participation in the Canadian Coin Set Registry is free and only requires that coins be PCGS-graded. Through a user-friendly administration area accessed by username and password, coins are entered into the registry by PCGS certification numbers. New sets and updates appear immediately online in the PCGS Set Registry after user validation.

The new PCGS Canadian Coin Set Registry launched in conjunction with the sale of the world-famous Belzberg Collection and features 34 sets from this remarkable collection, the finest and most complete collection of Canadian coins ever built. Assembled by Toronto collectors, Sid and Alicia Belzberg, the collection was sold by Heritage Numismatic Auctions on Monday, January 13, 2003. Listed as All-Time Finest in the registry, buyers of coins from the Belzberg Collection are now free to list these coins as they build their own sets in the Canadian Coin Set Registry.

The Set Registry staff was assisted by Canadian coin expert, Sandy Campbell, from Proof Positive Coins Ltd., Nova Scotia, who volunteered hours of his time to help complete the project.
