The last Issue for the 2014 Quarter Park Series – The Everglades

On November 3, 2014 the U.S. Mint will release the Everglades National Park Quarters. The Everglades National Park Quarters are the fifth and last design issued in the 2014 Quarter Park series. This also makes it the 25^th design issued in the entire National Park Quarter series. The Everglades Quarters were designed by Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Joseph Menna.

The National Park Quarter series began in 2010 and will continue until 2021. The series was approved by Public Law 110-456, which authorizes the United Sates Mint to produce five different quarter designs to honor a national site from every U.S. State, territory and the District of Columbia.

The obverse of the 2014 Everglades National Park Quarter features the same George Washington motif that has been used on all Washington Quarters from 1999 to date. The reverse features a long necked anhinga with outstretched wings on a willow tree with a roseate spoonbill bird in the background with a depiction of the Everglades scene in the background.

The U.S. Mint will offer the Everglades Quarters in bags and rolls. Additionally, on December 4, 2014 representatives from the National Park Service and the U.S. Mint will introduce the quarters in a release ceremony.
