PCGS Set Registry Update

José María Teclo Morelos Pérez y Pavón is known throughout history by his shortened name of José María Morelos. Morelos studied under Roman Catholic priest Miguel Hidalgo during his university days which led him to become a priest in the town of Carácuaro, Mexico during the year of 1799. Morelos joined a movement led by his mentor Hidalgo in 1810 which was the start of the Mexican War of Independence. In 1811 during the month of July, Hidalgo was captured and executed about a year later in 1812. Morelos continued strategically leading insurgents and resumed his mentor's vision to form a New Spain. He wrote a Sentimientos de la Nación which he developed as a framework of laws for a new nation. Unfortunately José María Morelos was captured by royalist forces and executed on December 22, 1815 for treason against the Spanish monarchy. Morelos and many others gave their lives in exchange for independence from Spain for future generations.
