Ron Guth Named PCGS Director of Numismatic Research

Veteran numismatist and award-winning hobby writer, Ron Guth, has been named Director of Numismatic Research for Professional Coin Grading Service, a division of Collectors Universe, Inc. (Nasdaq: CLCT).

Guth is the Founder and President of the popular online research site, www.CoinFacts.com. His books and magazine articles have received awards from the American Numismatic Association, the Professional Numismatists Guild and the Numismatic Literary Guild.

He is author or co-author of the best-selling hobby books, "Coin Collecting For Dummies," "United States Proof and Mint Sets, 1936 - 2002," and "100 Greatest U.S. Coins." He also is a contributor to the annual "A Guide Book of United States Coins" and the "Standard Catalog of World Coins," as well as other reference publications.

In his new role with PCGS, Guth will develop research related to the history of United States and world coinage; create numismatic databases and other reference information; and prepare research papers on various numismatic topics.
