Professional Coin Grading Service unveils a commemorative PCGS Set Registry Awards program for the company’s 40th anniversary in 2026. This one-year-only revamp of the PCGS Set Registry Awards offers bigger prizes and more challenging competition, with a new PCGS Set Registry Awards program debuting next year.

“Forty years after Professional Coin Grading Service began operations in 1986, we are looking at all ways to make the collecting experience more rewarding for collectors,” says PCGS President Stephanie Sabin. “Glowing up the PCGS Set Registry Awards program is one way we can make the collecting experience even more exciting for members.”

The PCGS Set Registry, which came online 25 years ago in 2001 as the first collecting platform of its kind on the internet, now has more than 200,000 sets. Over the years, PCGS has recognized thousands of collectors and their sets through the PCGS Set Registry Awards. “We congratulate all who have won PCGS Set Registry Awards over the years while celebrating the anniversaries of our company and the PCGS Set Registry by awarding the most valuable prizes we have ever offered for this popular annual awards program.”

The 2026 PCGS Set Registry Awards rules will be changing for this special, one-year-only revamp. For the 40th anniversary of PCGS, the 2026 PCGS Set Registry prizes include:

  • Personalized Award Plaque: Featuring the PCGS 40th Anniversary logo, the collector’s name, category, and the name of the winning set.
  • Submission Vouchers: A choice of either two (2) free Express Submission vouchers or four (4) free Regular Submission vouchers.
  • Exclusive 40th Anniversary Label: Coins from winning sets qualify for the exclusive PCGS 40th Anniversary Awards Label. Standard reholder fees apply. This limited-time opportunity is available for 90 days following the announcement of the 2026 winning sets.
  • Digital Recognition: A 40th Anniversary badge displayed prominently next to the winner's name within the PCGS Set Registry.“Work is already underway on a series of collector-requested improvements to the PCGS Set Registry. This year, we are sharpening the scope and focus of the awards program, and we have even more exciting updates to announce in the months ahead.”

PCGS Manager of Numismatic Research and Programs Charles Morgan says, “I’ve never been more excited about the PCGS Set Registry. We are delivering a competitive, engaging experience that transforms coin collecting from a solitary hobby into a dynamic pursuit with tangible market implications. The 2026 Awards program marks the next chapter of this shared journey.”
