PCGS CoinFacts Update
It is difficult to overstate the impact of the 1794 Cent on the numismatic hobby. This early American copper has been the subject of countless articles and monographs, offering collectors a vast array of varieties to pursue. Notably, it was the 1794 Cent that led Dr. William H. Sheldon to engineer his 70-point scale — a system designed to express the direct relationship between a coin’s condition and its market value. PCGS CoinFacts has recently published updated information on dozens of 1794 Cent varieties. Explore the latest data here! Read more.
PCGS Set Registry Update
PCGS encourages collectors to build sets that fit their budgets. Some sets may be too comprehensive for collectors to complete, which is understandable. Bulgaria is a good example within the PCGS Set Registry where segmented sets are requested. Our members have built more than 1,200 sets to date, and Bulgaria is among the top 10 countries for world coins. Some collectors may not collect copper coins and instead favor silver coins, such as this beautiful 1884 5 Leva shown above. It is part of the Bulgarian Three Rulers Silver Set, Circulation Strikes (1881-1943) set that PCGS recently listed. This set is built for collectors who favor silver coins, and we wish you the best of luck completeing your sets!
Additional sets from various countries have been added, so please feel free to browse the PCGS Set Registry when you have a chance and you may find there is a set for almost anyone to build. The PCGS Set Registry offers many different sets from all over the world and specialty sets for advanced collectors. We appreciate your continued patronage!
