In Proof condition, the 1840 No Drapery Dime is an extremely rare coin, with perhaps only five examples known. Eliasberg had one; Pittman had one (this piece eventually went into the Richmond Collection; and Phil Kaufman had one (now ranked the finest of the several known). We know for sure of one other example and a possible fifth.
The Kaufman coin is a Cameo Proof. The others are either Brilliant or partial Cameos. No Deep Cameo Proof 1840 No Drapery Dimes have been seen.
