The U.S. Mint struck 2 million 2019 Lowell Quarters at the West Point Mint, as part of an initiative to introduce collectible coins into circulation. This is the first time the U.S. Mint has struck quarters that bare a "W' mint mark for circulation.
The 2019-W Lowell Quarters were first shipped by the U.S. Mint on April 1, 2019 to 29 different states, so they can be released into circulation. The "W" mint mark quarters were mixed along with Philadelphia and Denver Mint struck Lowell Quarters into circulation.
