Jaime Hernandez:

The United States Mint began offering the collector version of the One Ounce 2019 $50 American Gold Eagles on June 13, 2019. The coins had a maximum mintage of 10,000. The U.S. Mint also imposed a 1 coin per household ordering limit, for the first 24 hours from when the coins were released. The collector version coins are sold specifically to collectors and not in large quantities like the bullion Gold Eagle versions.

The collector version and the bullion 2019 Gold Eagles look very similar, and one of the easiest ways to differentiate the both, is by looking at the “W’ mint mark on the collector versions. As the collector versions will display a “W’ mint mark underneath the date on the obverse, while the bullion versions do not carry a “W’ mint mark.
