The 1948 Doubled Die Reverse Franklin Half Dollar shows slight doubling on the inscriptions, "E Pluribus Unum." The doubling is somewhat weak, therefore, magnification is strongly recommended when viewing this variety. Examples up to about MS65 condition are fairly common, only in MS66 and higher are they scarce and command a strong premium. A popular variety amongst Franklin Half Dollar collectors.
