Ron Guth:

The FS-302 1845 Half Dime is a wonderful variety with clear repunching of every digit of the date. The first punching was slightly higher and to the left of the final punching. This variety is nor partiuclarly rare and it can often be found unattributed, even in circulated grades. We know of at least five Mint State examples, led by the Eliasberg PCGS MS67, and we suspect that there are more Uncirculated pieces "out there" waiting to be discovered. In the past, they have sold for only a small premium over the price for a type coin, thus the FS-302 1845 Half Dime appears to be an excellent value.
