Ron Guth:

The 1811 O-104a Half Dollar is a later die state of O-104, showing extra cracks on the obverse (see the Overton reference for details). Both the prime variety (O-104) and the O-104a are very common, and both are fairly easy to obtain in high grade. The best O-104a that PCGS has identified is a single PCGS MS66, making it the finest example of either die state.
