The 1852 Half Dime is a very common coin at all condition levels, whether circulated or Mint State. Even Gem (MS65) examples can be found with relative ease. Above MS65, the population drops dramatically, culminating in a single, simply monstrous, PCGS MS68. This date represents great value for the type collector because of the high availability and the relatively low cost.

A few examples of this date show weakness on the denticles on both sides. This may be a function of worn dies or sloppy quality control due to the large mintage.
