Breen (1989) listed Proof examples of JR-7 and JR-9, however Davis et al (1984) were only able to confirm the existence of Proof examples of JR-9. Eliasberg had an 1821 JR-7 that was subsequently graded NGC PR62. Another 1821 JR-7 appeared in the 2008 Superior sale of the Turtle Rock Collection as an NGC PR65. We know of four different examples of Proof JR-9, including one in the National Numismatic Collection at the Smithsonian Institution.
The finest Proof 1821 Dime is the PCGS PR66 last sold by Heritage in April 2015.
