The 2011 5 oz. Gettysburg National Park Quarter was first offered to Mint Authorized Purchasers on April 25, 2011. That same day, the Glacier 5 oz National Park Quarters were also offered to the Mints Authorized Purchasers.
The Mint Authorized Purchasers bought the coins directly from the Mint at a small premium over the spot price of silver on the day they ordered the coins. The Mint Authorized Purchasers then offered the coins to collectors at an additional premium.
