Ron Guth:

In 1807, John Reich introduced a new design for the Half Dollar, featuring a draped bust of Liberty facing left, and a more naturally-appearing, heraldic eagle on the reverse (though one wonders how natural it is for an eagle to hold items in its talons and wear a shield on its breast!). The new design came in two versions: Large Obverse Stars and Small Obverse Stars. The Large Stars version is approximately five times less common than the Small Stars version, based on the PCGS Population Report.

High grade examples of the 1807 Large Stars Half Dollar are very scarce. The PCGS Condition Census starts at AU58 and goes up to MS65. The majority of Mint State examples grade MS62 and MS63.
