Ron Guth:

One of the more interesting varieties in the St. Patrick series is the "No C" Farthing. On this variety, the engraver omitted the C in QVIESCATS, resulting in a meaningless Latin word. This error should not be confused with the occasional piece where a weak strike makes it appears as if the C is missing. On the "No C" variety, the spacing in the word QVIESCAT is uniform -- the "C" was never there!

Based on the number of collections which contained this variety (or, more importantly, which did not), the "No C" Farthing appears to be very rare. Roper had one (Breen called it the discovery coin); Norweb had none; Garrett had none; Ford had none. PCGS has certified only two examples, the finest of which is a PCGS VF25.
