Ron Guth:

In Proof condition, the 1869 Half Dollar is readily available, but Cameo Proofs are scarce. According to the PCGS Population Report, less than ten percent of the Proof 1869 Half Dollars have earned the Cameo designation. In general, the contrast between the fields and the devices is strong, but not quite strong enough to be called Deep Cameo. These are beautiful coins, especially those that have colorful toning to complement the cameo appearance. The finest Cameo Proof 1869 Half Dollar is a single PCGS PR67CAM.
