The 2001-W $5 Capitol Visitor Center Uncirculated Commemorative Coin was struck to fund a proposed Visitor Center at the U.S. Capitol. The Mint issued three different commemorative coins for this program, which included a Clad Half Dollar, Silver Dollar and finally the $5 Gold Commemoratives. All three coins were struck in Mint State and proof format.
