This is the first year in which the Mint struck Sacagawea Dollars. It struck a circulation strike and proof version. The circulation strikes were produced at Philadelphia and Denver, while the proofs were struck at San Francisco. Most coins came in superb quality, ranging from PR68-PR69 Deep Cameo condition, far less came in perfect PR70 Deep Cameo condition, although they are available with minimal effort in the marketplace.
