Judd-19 is a copper version of the 1794 Silver Dollar. In 1913, Edgar Adams and William H. Woodin described it thusly under their number AW-14: "Trialpiece from the regular dollar dies of 1794, showing the addition of the stars, and was struck from the completed die from which the dollars were issued in silver for general circulation. It is also thought to be unique, and is in the collection of Virgil Brand, of Chicago." In 1987, Stack's donated this remarkable coin to the Smithsonian Institution, where it resides today.
The unique Judd-19 has prooflike surfaces and a nealy full strike.
