Among 1855 Large Cents, only the Slanted 5's are known in Proof condition, and, among those, only Newcomb 10 and Newcomb 11 were struck as Proofs. Newcomb 11 is a Proof-only issue. The first Newcomb 10s were struck as Proofs, followed by circulation strikes. As a result, deceptive Prooflike examples of Newcomb 10 are sometimes offered as full Proofs.
