The 1831 Overton 105 Half Dollar variety offers no particular distinctions. It is merely one of twenty die varieties known of this date. It has been labelled scarce by researchers, and trying to find one outside of a specialist's inventory can be quite a challenge. It is also difficult to find an 1831 O-105 in Mint State. We know of only eight Mint State examples, the best of which is a single PCGS MS64. As elusive as this variety can be, it has proven to be very affordable in most grades, including the few appearances at auction of Mint State examples.
