The 2017 Ellis Island National Monument 5 oz. Quarter's officially went on sale on the U.S. Mint website on August 28, 2017. The U.S. Mint offered two different variations of the coins, one is a Bullion version and the other in what the Mint refers to as an Uncirculated version. The coin featured on this page is a Bullion version and is only sold to U.S. Mint Authorized purchasers. The best way to differentiate the Bullion and the Uncirculated version is through the "P" mint mark. The Uncirculated versions carry a "P" mint mark on the obverse, while the Bullion versions carry no mint mark, Each Mint Authorized purchaser could have bought the Bullion coins in large quantities with a premium of $9.75, over the spot price for each coin.
