To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the silver and gold eagle series, the U.S. Mint struck a total of 2,000 silver and gold eagles in a special ceremony. In April of 2021, U.S. Mint Director David Ryder struck the 2,000 bullion silver and gold eagles at the West Point Mint. There were 500 coins struck with the old design, and 500 coins struck with the new design, for both the silver and gold eagles. PCGS recognized these coins by adding, “Dusk at Dawn,” on the PCGS holder, indicating that the coins were struck at the special ceremony.
