The "Pellets" designation on this major variety refer to two dots, one on each side of the trunk of the Pine Tree. This obverse die was used on both Noe 34 and Noe 35; all other Threepence obverses lack the pellets. It is not unusual for one or both sides of these coins to be struck off-center.
