The 1851 Quarter is a semi-scarce issue with a nice, small mintage figure of only 160,000 coins. However, the surviving population is similar to that of the 1851-O, which is generally considered to be more rare. In Mint State, the 1851 is definitely more plentiful than the 1851-O, but not by much. Most Mint State 1851 Quarters are MS64, with few at the MS65 level and only one example known in MS66.
