Jaime Hernandez:

This is the fourth year of issue for the Platinum Eagle series. The $10 MS Platinum Eagle has the lowest mintage from 1997 to 2001. However, other dates in the series from the same denomination have much lower mintages. For example the 2006 has 11,001 and other dates also have mintages less than 15,000.

The 2000 $10 MS Platinum Eagle usually sells at a very small premium over spot platinum metal prices since it is not considered a key date. Examples in MS67-MS69 are very common. In MS70 they are much scarcer and expect to pay a significant price over platinum spot prices to buy one.
