Jaime Hernandez:

The Massachusetts state Quarter design is the 5th design issued in the 50 State Quarters program. It is also the first design issued of the year 2000. The Massachusetts circulation strike quarters were officially released on January 03, 2000.

The 50 States Quarter Program began in 1999 and ended in 2008. Every year since 1999, the U.S. Mint released five different state quarter designs to honor every state in America.
