In 2017, the United States Mint issued its first ever Palladium coins. The coins were made in 1 ounce (31.035 grams) .9995 pure palladium. The coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The diameter of the coins are 32.7 mm, all coins also have a reeded edge.
The first day of sales for the $25 2017 Bullion Palladium Eagles, was on September 25, 2017. The coins were only offered to U.S. Mint Authorized Purchasers, who in return sell the coins to collectors and the public.
Obverse: The obverse of the coins feature the same Liberty design that was originally used on the 1916 Mercury Dimes. The obverse has the inscriptions, "Liberty, In God We Trust" the date "2017" and the initials "AW" (Adolph Weinman).
Reverse: The reverse of the coins feature a large eagle in high relief. The reverse also has the inscriptions, "United States of America," "E Pluribus Unum" and it also has the denomination of "$25."
