Jaime Hernandez:

The $25 Palladium Reverse Proof coins were officially released by the U.S. Mint on September 12, 2019. The initial price for each coin was set at $1,987.50, if purchased directly from the U.S. Mint. These are the first Reverse Proof Palladium coins issued by the U.S. Mint. The Palladium Eagles were first introduced in 2017 and they have been struck in different finishes up to date. Palladium prices have also skyrocketed since the series was first introduced. For instance, in 2017 the spot price for an ounce of Palladium was about $800 an ounce, in 2021 the price rose to about $2,950 an ounce. Therefore, the U.S. Palladium coins provide collectors an opportunity to own this precious metal, in physical U.S. coins.
