PCGS CoinFacts Update

The year 1911 marked the first time Denver struck the one-cent coin, setting in motion a long-running legacy for the Mile High Mint. The issue circulated widely across the Mountain West, leaving very few gems for collectors today. Always overshadowed by the famous 1914-D, the 1911-D is a much tougher coin than most collectors filling holes realize.   Read more.

PCGS Set Registry Update

The Libertad Onza (one ounce) coin is released in an uncirculated finish by the Banco de México each year. Collectors eagerly await this coin's release so they could add it to their existing sets. In 2025, production for the one ounce coin was cut to 300 coins, and the smaller denominations saw even lower outputs. This limited mintage created a frenzy when the coins hit the market in July of 2025. Patrons on eBay were paying in excess of $10,000 for a PCGS MS70 example and recent sales have fetched more than $20,000! However, the last sale was probably when silver was trading at over $100 or more and excitement spread like wildfire as prices rose. Collectors seeking the 2025 Libertad Onza today will have to pay a healthy price to acquire one. The Libertad Onza shown above is part of the 2025 Mexican Onza Libertad Year Set Circulation Strikes for collectors to consider building.

Additional sets from various countries have been added, so please feel free to browse the PCGS Set Registry when you have a chance and you may find there is a set for almost anyone to build. The PCGS Set Registry offers many different sets from all over the world and specialty sets for advanced collectors. We appreciate your continued patronage!
