Don Willis: Another interesting engraving error for 1795. This time the engraver mistakenly engraved STATED. Afterwards he recut an S over the D. The D is clearly visible under the S as is a die lump between UNITED and STATES. The reverse die used by this variety is the only die with berries 8-9.
