Ron Guth:
The 1876 Quarter Dollar has the distinction of having the largest mintage of any Quarter Dollar from 1796 until 1920, making it the most common date of the nineteenth century. As a result, it is common in all grades, including Mint State. The majority of the certified Mint State examples are either MS63 or MS64. Gems are slightly scarce but can be found with relative ease. The very best examples top out at MS67 and the best example is a single PCGS MS67+.
The 1876 Quarter Dollar usually comes with a good strike and frosty luster.
