Jaime Hernandez:

There are two different Doubled Die varieties for the 1909 V.D.B. Lincoln Cent. This variety is considered the Type 1 and is the most prominent and the most popular of the two. The doubling on this Type 1 is somewhat strong and easily viewable with minimal magnification. The doubling can be see mostly on the letters "RTY of "Liberty" and on the date of "1909."

The 1909 V.D.B. Doubled Die Lincoln cent is fairly popular that it commands strong premiums, usually multiples compared to an example of the same date and mint mark without the variety.
