Jaime Hernandez: The 1909 V.D.B. Lincoln cent was highly hoarded and preserved in its' first year of issue. Consequently, many 1909 V.D.B. Lincoln cents survive in immaculate condition today.

Varieties: There are at least two different doubled dies known for this year. Type 1 is the most prominent variety of the two. The doubling is strongest on the date and on the word, Liberty.
