Featuring the closed wreath Reverse X, this Rarity-6 variety is paired with the seldom-seen Obverse 25. This obverse is easily identified by its unique date and hair characteristics: the 17 are closely coupled, and the top of the 4 touches the bust truncation. The bottom hair curl hooks distinctly back toward the date. Even more prominent is the highest point of the hair, which nearly touches the RT in LIBERTY. A key diagnostic is the severed sixth lock (counting from the bottom), while the top of the pileus (cap) almost reaches the denticles.
