Sheldon-40 (#35585) represents the third and final appearance of Obverse 17. As with its predecessors, this variety is easily identified by the distinctively marred field. Reverse Die O is distinguished by a small bow that sits notably high above the knot. The wreath features a symmetrical arrangement of seven berries on both the left and right branches.
As the Die wears, coins will exhibit a diagnostic die cracks through the D and N of "UNITED STATES."
